Karashi is Japanese mustard that can make your eyes water. It's quite a bit stronger than the kind you usually buy in Denmark, and even though it looks the same, it shouldn't be confused with sweet mustard. It's particularly suitable for Japanese oden (soup with very tender meat, fish cakes, radishes and carrots), but is also good for other types of cooked meat and vegetables - or on a slice of rye bread if you dare.
