Shochu is Japanese spirit brewed on either rice, wheat or sweet potatoes. It is typically enjoyed rokku, i.e. in a glass with a large amount of ice cubes, often adding a little water. The taste of the different types varies a lot, with shochu brewed on rice having a very mild taste, while Imo shochu, brewed on sweet potatoes, has a very aromatic taste.
Sanwa Iichiko is a shochu brewed on barley and offers a light aromatic flavour, which is great for a shochu cocktail, a light meal, or even with your coffee.
To be enjoyed chilled, preferably with ice.
