Dashi is absolutely essential to give traditional flavor in Japanese dishes. This package contains 2 bags of 500 gr, so you can open just half the contents of the box at a time. Shimaya dashi is based on bonito, which is a type of tuna, and it adds a particularly strong umami flavor to the dish.
Use this dashi for noodle soups, oden, miso soup, etc.
